Korengelf takes on Ingvar
UK Heroic
Mardia / Tanque / Stetson / Kaylad / Korengelf
Korengelf's first heroic guild run tonight (preceded by a couple of VoA runs), not too bad for a freshly minted mage.

Failadin...
Let's see, I'm guessing you were around 14-16, that's not a problem. I run regularly with a 14 year old and I know many of those I've pugged with will be sub-21. Age is not a problem.

Attitude & being competent is.
So let's see...
- First pull, it's a wipe
Yes I'm sure you're awesome, however if you pull the entire room, and we're the right level for the instance then we're more than likely to be in some serious trouble. - You're a bl*dy Paladin!
Holding aggro as a paladin isn't that hard, DPS might be able to yank aggro off you, particularly if you're running around like a mad thing collecting everything in sight and not building aggro on a target I can blow down, but dear gods it's something baby paladins can handle. - Run you lazy sod
We wiped, I'm not going to throw a tantrum, wiping on the first pull is rarely a good sign but to be frank my repair bill from this run with wipes is less than my repair bill from a heroic with 'wolf. It happens. However, stop relying our the priest to bring you back to life because you can't be bothered running. It's not cool and it slows us down, Priest has to run, priest has to build mana, has to res, has to buff, has to build mana again, all because you can't be bothered to release. - AFK
Actually thank you, the pulls without you around were much cleaner.

DKs are OP
Ok, I've ranted about overpowered DKs are for a while, mostly based on watch them plough through piles of mobs and PvP with barely a break. Over the last few days I've woken Namtar up again, respecced her blood.
Dear gods, it's a whirlwind of death.
I admit that soloing the Drillmaster got a little hairy at one point but that's because I forgot to drop mark of blood on his head at the start. So she's going to be getting the levelling love for a while simply for the joy of playing a plate dps monster (Unferth and Korengelf will also be getting attention so we have ranged dps and healing coming up to 80 as well)

Nexus Heroic (Anomalus)
Not quite our normal mix, Tanque had been booted off to do the sleep thing, so we pulled in a newly minted DK in the guild (blod spec), we managed to get Boss#1 down on the first attempt with the new grouping (Pally tank, Warrior DPS, DK DPS & 2xPally healers). Telestra went down on the second attempt thanks to a bad pull (heroic aggro radius is a sod) but we know how to deal with her. Purple -> Blue -> Red, that's the cycle.
Anomalus... we tried the standard approach, tank keeps him in the centre, dps takes out rifts, tank joins in when he shields. We wipe, simply not enough DPS to take out the rifts quickly enough to keep the adds down to something sensible.Second run, we change tack so that all three melee members attack any rift which comes up, I make sure the boss remains on me with AoE / multi-mob attacks and we spank down the rifts as fast as we can, this also means that the trash is collecting on the tank as they come through and hit the consecration keeping them off the healers. It works. Though it has to be noted that wowwiki states clearly that you must not kite him around in heroic mode. Maybe the author wasn't expecting an all plate team.. :)

Korengelf makes his 75th season
Maleficia and I have reached our 75th season together. Well I say together but she got their first. I really need to spend more time studying with the enchanters in Dalaran to clear the piles of junk building up in the bank. Better to break it down into it's magical essences rather than flog it to those shysters for recycling.
Zul'drak might have been something once... now? It's a hellhole, crawling with scourge. Not sure I trust our friends from the Ebon Blade they appear to have a "radical" approach to ethics.
Korenwolf is busy kicking his heels back in Ironforge, I think he's sulking at being left out of the smashing and mashing fun. Not to worry there will be plenty of need for him soon to provide the meat barrier between the bad guys and us, about the only use for the plate wearing muscle heads if you ask me.
I had a quote in the post for the flying mount come through, it's about time their monopoly was broken up, 7,000 gold for training and the swift mount. Sheesh that's the entire team 'wolf bank and then some.
Maybe I should kick that nelf into gear and tell him to earn his living for a change by picking some flowers.

When mages try to tank (Tootsy)
Well I do my best to keep him alive but there is only so much a girl can do even when covered in mail. The silly sod went running out of Trelane's tower straight into a pile of ogres. Now for those of you who don't know there is a name for mages and warlocks used by Warriors and those holy nutters, Paladins that is. "Squishies" because.. well they are. For some silly reason they can only wear cloth, which is no defense against got solid steel. Anyway he ended up as a flat smear on the ground while I made sure that survival was on the top of my list. There's no point dying trying to defend the indefensible.
Oh well maybe being flattened a few times will educate him in the finer points of hiding behind a wall of steel as a method for not dying.

Ussmak the .. errr well I'm not sure yet.
Well there's no point in deciding a career so early in the questing life of the Paladin, there's just so many weak and helpless who need saving, I've been spending some time with a rather strange little gnome, Chandri. Ok she's chosen a path which is the dark side of evil (thief, rogue, general all round bad egg) but she's holding her own in a fight. Of course without me there she'd be yet another smear on the ground but don't tell her I said that.
I should be able to hand over my responsibility soon, there's a warrior gnome (an orphan abandoned near the Exodar and brought up by a good Draenai family), she's out in the highlands at the moment so hopefully they'll be able to team up and I'll be able to prove that I'm able to squash evil with the best of them.
Anyway, time to sign off and get this into the mail, the trip back to the Exodar to see my mentor is ahead of me.
